"Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see" -John F. Kennedy
Tonight I was babysitting and it was such a joy to be with these kids that I like to call my own! I know this is sometimes a hard topic and people are sometimes not to fond of children but I'm not here to say that you should love children as much as me or that you need to love them but here's my point of view on it. Children are a blessing and we can learn so much from them. They brighten the days of many people around the world. Children love to love on people if they are shown the love that you give them! There are some people who cannot have children and would do anything to be a parent and then there are other people who just can't stand children but have them. Now doesn't that seem unfair? Why is it that for people who WANT children can't have and for the ones who DON'T have children? I don't have the answers but I do know that God has a plan even when we don't see Him working.
As I was tucking in the oldest girl into bed she was telling me about her kitty and how she lost it in the bathroom at the mall. She was broken! While laying in bed she asked me "why do people have to steal"? and I honestly didn't have an answer. Why is it that people steal? She then proceeded to ask me "why can"t people just treat you the way that they'd want to be treated"? and again I didn't have a solid answer. I started to laugh a little knowing that her questions were so true...and at times I've asked myself the same exact questions...she looked at me and told me that it isn't funny (felt a little bad for laughing) but really why was I laughing? Well because her questions seemed kinda silly but to her they were so real and serious. She wanted to know the answers to her questions and I couldn't give that to her. I don't have life all figured out but what I do know is that because of sin the world is not right....we weren't made to steal, lie, covet, complain ect...but because of the fall the world is broken and until the Lord returns our world will continue to be like this! I told her that in a simpler version and she told me "why couldn't Jesus have come the day kitty was stolen"? I know I responded "He could have taken kitty from the person and she would've been so small in His hands but when he gave it to me it would be normal size and then I'd run into His arms". Hearing her talk with such confidence and innocence was just such a sweet reminder that we could all ask simple questions. We all don't need to have all the answers, sometimes we just need someone to listen. I love how she said that she would've ran into his arms...we need to always find our hope, strength, peace, joy and shelter in Christ because we were made for Him!
Children are a huge blessing in my life and I hope in the lives of others! We could all learn something from a child; there innocence, curiosity, love for life, simplicity, ect....I hope you'd take time to love on a child whether related to you or someone you know, children need to be shown love. Children learn a lot from us as well as we can learn from them. They need to be shown that they matter, that they're worth it! There are so many children around the world that people want to love on but they forget that there are children right around the corner in there neighborhood that need just as much love and attention! That's all I have for today. Love the kiddos around you!
